Quiet
I raised only one daughter. Quiet was a thing of beauty at our home. She was either in her room or outside or watching televison. There was no: "He took Buzz!" or "He tore up my legos!" or "I want that tractor." There was the ocassional neighborhood spat with the Nobile boys, or with Bart, or with Reed, or with Edye. But to those of you who raised more than one child, my hat is off to you. I don't know if I could have done it. What I do know is that my daughter and her husband are great parents with the patience of Job. Sometimes I wonder why they don't do like Job and tear their clothes and pour ashes on their heads. The boys are not bad, mind you; it is just that when one is taken care of, another one needs attending to. But my heart absolutely melts when William says, "Will you stay a hundred days?" or Wes asks me to read a book for the tenth time or Reed slobbers down the front of my blouse then offers me high five. Life is truly wonderful when I am with them, but it is quiet at my house.

Gotta Love Him
Nothing would do but for me to take a picture of William in his hat he got at Health Works. Here goes:
What a Blessing !
One of the things I like about life is that my mom and dad, Mamoo and Taylor (a.k.a. Poppa to Laura), are able to be a part of the boys' lives. Mama is 78 and Daddy is 82. Thank you Lord.

Easter 2010
Do you hear it?!! No, I guess not. What I hear as I am typing this post is nothing, just the quiet, something that comes only at night after 8:00 pm in the Henson house. We visited Chase and Laura and the boys for the Easter week-end. To say there was something going on all the time is an understatement. Everybody in their house gets up by 7:00 am at the latest, and William and Wes go strong all day long, especially when the sun is shining and the weather is beautiful. We played all kinds of ball games, rode bikes and tractors, wrote on the sidewalk, walked around the neighborhood, played ping pong, hunted Easter eggs, went to Church, and ate at the country club twice. I am worn out! However, I can't think of anything I had rather have been enjoying (wow, the verb tense on this sentence is dicey) any more than spending my time with my precious family. God is so good, and His son is risen. Alelluia!
Reed enjoys being outside
Yep. This is one of those pics that will come back to haunt him during his senior year in the yearbook.

I know . . .
We went to Tupelo for a very active week-end! Along with all the hyper-activity from Halloween and treat-or-treating, we also witnessed the baptism of Henson #3, Reed. Here are a few bits of wisdom with which I came home:
1. . . . it is impossible to get three kids 4 and under to look in the same direction at the same time for a photo opt.
2. . . . the Henson boys all have large heads! It is already hard to find a hat to fit William's head, you need only look at Wes to see he has some growing to do to fit to his, and Reed is following right along. I have heard the head size referred to as Henson Head. No matter. They are beautiful!
3. . . . all things Mississippi State reign in the Henson house (with a Florida gator thrown in here and there), even at Halloween. #1 still holds true.
4. . . . great grandaddies really are great.
5. . . . we always take advantage of a family photo opt. Ahh, #1 is not true this time.
6. . . . boys love their vehicles at any age.
7. . . . the innocence of Halloween can bring back fond memories as we get older.
8. . . . grandmothers will do anything, for the most part, that grandsons want them to do.
9. . . . parents who see to the spiritual realm of their child's life are giving the truest kind of love.

Time Will Tell
Well, I came home yesterday, leaving the Henson clan on their own. I had only one child and had an easy time of raising her, thank goodness. I can't even begin to imagine what it takes to take care of three children, especially three boys, on a daily basis. I know after I keep them for a while, it usually takes 24 hours for me to recoup and regroup, but they are such a blessing that I can't help but thank God for my precious family and pray for them daily. Here a few new pictures.

Welcome to Our Family
What you see here is the first official family portrait of the Henson family just after the birth of Reed Chase Henson. He is a week old today, and if you will indulge a grandmother's pride, I must say he is the most beautiful baby I have ever seen along with his brothers. He was born July 9th at 12:59, weighing 7.6 pounds and measuring 19.5 inches.

It Was a Happy Easter!
Not much to say that the pics can't tell you. We went to Chase and Laura's for the week-end and had a great time, visiting, hunting eggs, eating, and worshiping. Hope you all had a great Easter. Praise God. He Is Risen!!

William is so proud of his watch. Never mind he can't tell time!

Wes looks for the wind that is blowing the pinwheels.
#1 and #2 playing around
Checking out the fire truck before hunting eggs

Who is this?!

I found one.

I found one, too!
What did the Easter Bunny bring?
Next year we will get to do it all over again with one more added.
